Pioneer Spirit Project.

A project I have done last year, about Pioneer Spirit. The research was based about Native Americans, prairie girls, Cowboys,Fashion inspired about it. In ApriI, I went with my class at the British Museum in the American Indian Gallery, we had to take pictures, draw sketches, getting a lot of information about their lifestyle, and clothing. Somehow,Native americans were wearing quite a lot of skin animals in their clothing to protect them from the coldest winters or wars... I really enjoyed doing creativity into that theme.

These are random fashion images inspired about cowboys and indians.

Fashion images enterely inspired about cowboys and western. I discovered a shoe campany, when I went to Kings Road in London called R.Soles.It's based on cowboys boots in leather made with lovely designs and embroidery. Check the website http://www.rsoles.com/, it's really amazing... I really love the idea about doing embroidery with soft colours on leather fabric. So here I just made a little design on leather, with a huge painting of a violent cowboy , and different kind of denims all around the painting.

I found a collection by Dan and Dean Catin, which they are the creators of the famous label named Dsquared2.The collection is from Spring/Summer 2010 referring on western, america and cowboys inspirations.I think their collection is beautifully done, the garments have got nice details like the fringing who matches pretty well with the denim, the leather on denim gives a really nice effect, the belts on the body emphasizes the body, they associated denim, leather, fringing, cowboys accessories...Some of their garments are flowery which they used the prairies girls as inspiration aswell.

Beautiful details, like the leather designs on denim or the underbust corset made in leather with cool designs...
Some of the research I showed you were my main inspirations for my collection of 16 designs. I haven't put all of it , I just put the 6 designs I liked the most.

That design is the final one I've chosen, I decided to take a pink floral print, and adjusting it with denim and leather designs. The underbust corset I nearly finished it, but I finally haven't done fringing, because I thought it would be too much.I'm  quite happy with the result... Now I am currently doing the jumpsuit, the time will take shorter than the underbust corset (because it was really hard to realise it!).

Here's the others designs...

I generally really enjoyed the project, I liked discovering about the lifestyle of Indians, researching informations...Then getting inspired of, and illustrated what went out of my head.

These garments aren't recent, they are from last year which it was my first year in Fashion. The projects were surrealism and creating a waistcoat with a fabric we were given. For the surrealism project, we didn't have that much choices about fabrics, just bright colours (which I didn't like at all...).My milkshake bottle dress comes from a little day-dream I had once, I was just sitting in a pub, drinking a milkshake with a brain inside, I don't know who was belonging the brain...I knew that it was a strange taste, but I remember I enjoyed it. I thought it was something related about drinking ideas, so then I decided to write "Drink my idea..." I was happy with the result, but I still think if I would have done with another colour (not that bright...) , it would be so much better. I generally used angelina fibres (I'm so much in love with it), textile pen and paint. Am I allowed to drink your brain?

These are my neurons...

My waistcoat, the result with gold and black net made me happy. But it was so annoying stitching with net, it didn't stop making problems at my domestic machine! I really enjoyed to learn these skills of making a garment, it was very hard but at the end I had the result I really wanted. I don't know when, at the moment I am still doing pattern construction for my pioneer spirit garments (corset underbust+jumpsuit), and unfortunately I am very behind .I have to catch up all this, and then making it. When it will be finished, I will be happy to post pictures of it . Thanks for reading my post !

Hello, hope you all had a good christmas with a lot of presents, fun, good times :) Also wishing you a happy new year with a big late ^_^"  It must be one month I didn't post anything, I was literally just relaxing and watching a lot of movies in my christmas holidays. I had also coursework to do. I haven't done new pictures yet, but as soon as I can, I will put my fashion illustrations from the pioneer spirit project. I am already going to show you these fashion illustrations I have enjoyed last year in class. I generally used bleach, paint and wax. I also liked to play with splashes, and create random shapes .

I never told in my blog, but I am obsessed of shoes...Revealing you my obsession, just gonna now share with you, images of shoes I really love, perhaps I won't put everything because it might be too long ;)
Vivienne Westwood.

                                                       Rocking horse shoes.
Salvador Dali shoes.

These two pair of shoes are from Vivienne Westwood's collection called Anglomania.

                                                    Christian Louboutin.

                                                    Alexander Mcqueen Shoes.

French designer called Cyd Jouny, who created basketball sneakers with heels.
Patrick Cox's shoes called "Rizzo".

I don't know if we can walk with these shoes but I really like them. They were created by Samuel Mazza.

Lars Hagen's cut-glass and mirror collage on a shoe. (must be painful to wear that)

Vivienne Westwood's penis-shoe in her "Erotic Zones" collection.

Bag competition.

This time , it wasn't a project, it was just a bag competition. I haven't win, but I'm still proud about the result of my bag.The theme was "the christmas bag", I remember I took few weeks to think about it, and I had no idea at all for a christmas glamorous bag! One night, I just thought "Alright I won't do complicated, I just gonna do something personal, even if it's nothing about christmas and glamorous..." . I finally have done something geometrical, simple, and collage. A bag who talks a lot about "me". If I would give it a name, I would problably called it a name of a planet, Mars or Jupiter, because of the print at the bottom I have done with the black and red paint similiar with a planet . As you see I also used fimo, for creating triangles, and plaites. I think if it was made into reality , the fabric for that bag would problably be leather and vynil. I have adjusted aswell a little white ribbon ,just to give something more girly. For the red prints at the centre, I just had the simple idea to put red paint in a piece of paper and then folding it up. The result ended it like that. Now talking about globaly, I would seriously buy a  Vivienne Westwood bag from Anglomania...it's just amazing ! (and yeah there is a planet on it).

Shoes Project.

It was basically a project which we had to design shoes from any theme we could be inspired of.
I really enjoyed it, litteraly the ideas came out quickly of my brain and I thought designing shoes it's something new because usually we haven't done that much of shoes projects. So here I'm showing you my designs. I wanted to imagine something bright, funny geometrical, and punkish.Generally I used watercolour, sewing machine, fabrics, collage, different materials. Some of my designs were almost inspired by the great artist called Vladimir Kandinsky. The abstract art is such interesting for me, because it is a freedom of colours and forms.
